Zoning 101 Lunch and Learn

Zoning laws shape the cities and town around us – they preserve the character of our communities, keep our neighborhoods safe and healthy for residents, and sets the priorities for future development. But what happens when your housing project doesn’t fit the local zoning regulations? Join us for this lunch and learn, where City Planner of the City of Bristol, Robert M. Flanagan, will outline the Planning and Zoning process for developers. This lunch and learn will walk attendees through the basics of common zoning regulation and the boards and commissions that review the process along the way.  The presentation will also highlight the zoning tools that allowed for the conversion of a former town-owned shelter into permanent supportive housing for veterans in the Town of Bristol.
