2018 Legislative Breakfast

The Fair Housing Working Group, co-chaired by Representative Roland Lemar and Commissioner of Housing Evonne Klein, has been meeting over the past several months to develop a platform of proposals to increase access to affordable housing across Connecticut. (Click here to see details of the committee's work.) This legislative breakfast will be an opportunity to hear about the working group's legislative proposals.

The Fair Housing Working Group proposals include:

  • Technical changes to CGS, Sec. 8-2 to promote clarity of the state's policy goals for municipal zoning authority,
  • Creation of a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) planning task force,
  • An act concerning inclusionary zoning and local governing boards,
  • Expansion of public housing authority jurisdiction, and
  • A proposal to conduct a housing affordability impact analysis.
